I'm looking for some cooking recipes for something with Salmon?

Do you know any good ones? I have a vegetarian friend coming over tomorrow and he eats fish so I thought it would be nice of me to make something for him.I'm looking for some cooking recipes for something with Salmon?
No you're confused.

Fish and poultry may 'have their own categories'

But they still come from a dead animal.

Therefore, they are not vegetarian.

I know a person that is mentally retarded and even they can comprehend that.I'm looking for some cooking recipes for something with Salmon?
You don't have a vegetarian friend, you have a pescatarian friend.

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

8 (4 ounce) fillets salmon

1/2 cup peanut oil

4 tablespoons soy sauce

4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

4 tablespoons green onions, chopped

3 teaspoons brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger

2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

Add to Recipe Box

DIRECTIONS

Place salmon filets in a medium, nonporous glass dish. In a separate medium bowl, combine the peanut oil, soy sauce, vinegar, green onions, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, sesame oil and salt. Whisk together well, and pour over the fish. Cover and marinate the fish in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours.

Prepare an outdoor grill with coals about 5 inches from the grate, and lightly oil the grate.

Grill the fillets 5 inches from coals for 10 minutes per inch of thickness, measured at the thickest part, or until fish just flakes with a fork. Turn over halfway through cooking.
It's nice of you to cook something to eat for your friend, but as others have stated, salmon (or any fish or sea animal) is NOT vegetarian. Vegetarians don't eat animals. Fish are animals. Therefore, eating fish is not vegetarian.

Individuals who eat fish/sea animals but no other meat as pescatarians, which is not a form a vegetarianism. It's a limited form of an omni diet instead.
Ok. to stop the nonsense from the veggies: Your friend is actually a Pescatarian. Vegetarians dont eat meat and yes, they consider all seafood meat. (Just so ya know, and yes some Pescas just call themselves vegetarian, its usually just easier, i don know why..)

This is the wrong place to look sorry to say. This is the vegan and vegetarian section. Neither eats animals of any kind. So the cooking and recipes section would be better to find a recipe for your PESCETARIAN friend. Not saying I have issues with pescos but fish and vegetarian just aren't in that same bubble.

The definiton of vegetarian from 2 sources

i think YOU are the mistaken one. the definition of meat is: the flesh of animals (including fishes and birds and snails) used as food. sooooo i think that if you made salmon, you'd insult him. actually, i dont think you are having a friend over at all BECAUSE you call your friend a him in the question and then say ';she's a vegetarian'; in your details. i think you just wanted to start crap on here. but, fish is meat. meat is anything that was once alive with a heartbeat, but is now on a plate.
As has been said, your friend is not a vegetarian. How can s/he be if s/he eats meat? However, I think it's great that you are considerate of what your friend does and doesn't eat and want to accommodate it.

I CAN eat fish and poultry, if I wanted to and if I found it appetizing. However, I wouldn't be vegan then.

ok so everyone has been explaining to you, and still you seem to refuse to accept the correction. And these guys are vegetarians.

So you have red meat, that's your beef, your lamb and such. Game, is rabbit, venison (deer), pheasant, offal, is the internal organs such as heart, kidneys and liver. But it is still meat, and then there is poultry, fish, and seafood/shellfish. Different categories, sure, but still animals and living creatures. Off limits for vegetarians.

So have you had a Thanksgiving turkey?

A roast chicken?

Both are in the poultry category....correct?

However....

Here's the thing, poultry, birds have flesh on them under those feathers and when that flesh is cooked, it is called meat.

Have you ever heard of the dark and white meat of chicken, there is that white breast meat, and then other areas of the bird is dark meat. The same with other poultry. It's meat.

Have you heard of crabmeat?

The fleshy part of a crab. Yep that's meat too!!
It's great that you are so supportive of your friend and their lifestule :-)

Why don't you buy smoked salmon then you wouldn't have to cook at all and the two of you could spend more time hanging out.
Someone is confused. Fish = meat. Vegetarians don't eat meat. Therefore, vegetarians don't eat fish.

Is your friend a he or a she? Sounds like someone is confused about that as well.
That is very thoughtful of you. But I am sorry that I have no tasty recipes because I am not a vegetarian and I do not eat salmon.
well its more liek a snack but its still good........ cream cheese a cracker and a peace of salmon
