Looking for a good Salmon recipe for someone who doesn't like fish?

Our family doesn't really like fish, but we are trying to eat healthier and decided to give Salmon a try. I'm looking for a good recipe for baking Salmon that will have a greatly reduced ';fishy'; taste. Any good recipes we can try? We've never even tasted Salmon, so this is a risky move for us...lol.Looking for a good Salmon recipe for someone who doesn't like fish?
I love Salmon and we eat a lot of it. This is truly my best advice:

If you and your family don't really care for fish, do not start out with Salmon. Salmon has a very distinct and what you would consider 'fishy' taste to it. Any recipe that would please you would completely ruin the Salmon. I would suggest starting off with a subtler fish like Sole or Halibut. Really.

I am not trying to discourage you from trying Salmon, it is great. I just think you should build up to it.Looking for a good Salmon recipe for someone who doesn't like fish?

*****Foil-Wrapped Baked Salmon Fillet*****

For a moist and flavorful salmon entree, simply drip seasonings on the fish, wrap the fillet tightly in foil, and bake. This Baked Salmon Fillet is easy to make, healthy and light to eat.

4 lbs. salmon fillet

juice of 3 lemons

3 Tablespoons oil (olive or canola)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon pepper

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.Clean, rinse and pat dry the fillet.Place salmon fillet - skin side down - on a piece of aluminum foil that is large enough to wrap around the whole fillet. Then place on a baking sheet or in a shallow pan.In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice, oil, garlic, salt and pepper.Pour the seasonings over the fillet. Wrap the foil around the fish. Seal edges well, but leave room for the fish to expand. Bake the fish at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow 10 minutes for the heat to penetrate the foil. Then cook another 10 minutes for each inch of fish thickness. The salmon is done when it flakes easily when tested with fork. When done, remove from oven, unwrap, discard salmon skin and serve hot.

TIPS: Salmon bought fresh from a fish store is generally much better than salmon bought from the grocery store frozen section.

*****Salmon with Garlic and Dill****

Salmon cooks with aromatic ingredients in a foil package, sealing in all the flavor and juices, to make a perfect and elegant meal.

1-1/2 lb. salmon fillet

1/2 tsp. salt

1/8 tsp. white pepper

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 sprig fresh dill, minced

6 slices lemon

2 green onions, chopped

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Place salmon fillet on heavy duty foil large enough to wrap around salmon. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic, and minced dill. Top with lemon slices and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Bring up foil around salmon and pinch edges to seal, leaving room for expansion in the package. Place on baking sheet and roast at 450 degrees F for 20-25 minutes until salmon is opaque and flakes easily when tested with fork. Serves 4-6

I agree with Mrs. White. Salmon is definitely not the fish to try for people who don't like fish.

I would start with something much more mild like cod or even halibut or grouper. If you want something with some nice meaty texture but a nice non-fishy flavor, try red snapper.

People who don't like fish usually don't like it because they haven't had truly fresh fish, properly cooked. Fish should never smell, look or taste ';fishy';, if it does, it is spoiled.

When you are buying fish, even fillets, it is preferable if you can touch and smell them before you buy them. Fish should be firm, the flesh should never be separated and it should not have any kind of sticky or slimey coating on it.

Fish cooks quickly and is truly best simply seasoned with salt and pepper and some citrus, maybe.

Serve fish with rice and a favorite vegetable, it will only enhance the experience.
How about Salmon Cilantro Burgers? The flavors in the burger and the sauce that accompanies it are fresh-tasting, healthy, and it doesn't taste fishy at all.

If you like this recipe, please let me know!
Oh boy -- yeah it's risky. I am not a huge fish fan, but I can tolerate salmon. It has taken me years to try it. What got me started was eating smoked salmon. Oh my goodness, that stuff is great. My mother in law makes a smoked salmon spread that is also good -- not exactly healthy, though.

Following is a recipe I can tolerate, although not my favorite (just being honest) ... I would much rather have grilled catfish -- now, that is good! Be prepared to have a backup dinner in case your family doesn't like it. I serve this dish with a sauce made with a 3T. plain yogurt mixed with 3T. fat free sour cream, a capful of lemon juice and a sprinkle of dry dill and a sprinkle of dried parsley:

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

1 pound salmon fillets

录 cup butter, melted

5 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon dried dill weed

录 teaspoon garlic powder

sea salt to taste

freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a medium baking dish with non stick spray.

Place salmon in dish. Mix butter and lemon dish, drizzle over salmon. Sprinkle with seasonings.

Bake 25 minutes, or until salmon easily flakes with a fork.
