Salmon = Garlic powder, olive oil, and fresh lemon juice with some butter. Wrap in foil, bake that baby for 15 min tops or eveb broil if you like flakey.

rice = sticky white rice, stir fried with garlic powder and garlic salt and pepper sesame seed. OR:

rice = 1 cup white rice uncooked, 1 cup lipton sick soup (hey Im old school), which is really just lipton noodle soup dry (remove most of noodle,do not chuck dry broth mixture), 2 and 1/2 cups water, 1 tablespoon olive oil. Place all in massive frying pan, stir it up for 1 min while it warms, leave to simmer for 25-30 minutes. Do not touch or remove lid unless you like mushy rice. Place salmon on top when ready to serve. Blamo. Love that stuff!

Oh yeah, if you want the spice without the fuss, cayenne pinch will fit the bill. If you want the more robust/gritty taste of spicy, a couple pinches of chili powder. Cayenne is way better IMHO.

Care and luck
I like salmon so much, when I cook (BBQ or broil), the few spices used: sage, oregano and basil, with a little olive oil and lemon. Sometimes with it in the BBQ, I have the wet, smoldering bark of cherry or alder. When the translucent quality of the fish is gone, it's done. A departure from rice: bake a couple of potatoes, when 80%, remove from oven, slice lengthwise, scoop out potato from skin, mix with favorite cheese then pack it back in and finish cooking.
theres a seasing only for salmon theres a pictures of a fat guys with a mustash on the front i think its called magic salmon seasoning. my fiance luvs it he never order salmon at the resturants anymore. the back of the seasing will tell u how to make it. i add a tspn of minced garlic too!u can get it at savemart..enjoy!
bake or grill your salmon make some rice white or brown boil beans to desired texture or not break salmon up after cooked combine rice beans and salmon in bowl mix together drizzle a little olive oil over the mixture and crumble some feta cheese on top. ENJOY...
Poach the salmon, and cook the rice with saffron and fresh garden peas.
