I'm making dinner tonight and have no inspiration. Anyone know a good recipe ? ( Not too difficult please.... I'm 15 years old )Does anyone know a cheap recipe for salmon ?
1 pound salmon fillets or steaks

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried dill weed

2 tablespoons butter

1 lemon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Rinse salmon, and arrange in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle salt, pepper, onion powder, and dill over the fish. Place pieces of butter evenly over the fish. Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the fish.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork.Does anyone know a cheap recipe for salmon ?
This is fabulous, impressive and EASY trust me, little girl, this recipe will take you well into adulthood and your kids and grandkids will have it as a family gem. Serve with very simple wide egg noodles, cooked according to package directions, drained and add butter, and a frozen green- either peas with onions or beans with almonds.

But it is versatile- for example, in an italian mood? add some spaghetti sauce to the mustard and use italian seasoned bread crumbs- serve with spaghetti and the rest of the sauce.

Cajun? use a spicy mustard mixed with some tabasco and use cracker crumbs- serve with a prepackaged cajun rice.

Enjoy, and keep on cooking... good to know there are 15 year olds out there even looking for inspiration!!!

4 4 salmon fillets or steaks

2 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. mustard- whatever you like, dijon, spicy brown, honeycup...

16 crackers, crushed (about 1/2 cup) or bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 400掳F. Place fish in single layer on foil-covered baking sheet; spread evenly with mustard.

Sprinkle with crumbs.

Bake 25 min. or until fish flakes easily with fork.
Make a marinade using fresh ginger, mirin, sesame oil, soy sauce and sherry.

Mirin is a very sweet rice wine, very low alcohol content that can be purchased in the International aisle of most grocery stores.

The sherry is cooking sherry, also available at most grocery stores.

Mince a piece of ginger that is about the 1 inch long (a heaping tablespoon once mince).

In a measuring cup -

toss in the ginger, add ~equal parts mirin and sesame oil to equal 1/4 cup. Add equal parts soy and sherry to equal 1 cup.

I typically use about 1.5 lb fillet of salmon.

Get a salmon fillet w/skin on. Rinse off the fillet, pat it dry with paper towels. Place fillet and marinade in a large zip lock and keep in the fridge for at least 2 hours prior to cooking.

Grill it on your outdoor grill, flesh side down. When the skin easily peels off, carefully flip it over and brush it with some of the marinade. I turn the grill off at this point and let the salmon rest on the still hot grill for 2-3 minutes. My teenage kids love this.

Another recipe we like is-

Make a sauce with plain yogurt, dill and cucumbers. Seed the cucumber, dice it very small. Mix into yogurt with dill weed to taste. Let this sit at room temp while you prepare the salmon.

Salmon is poached.

In a pan large enough to lay your salmon in flat. Add some onion slices, sliced carrot, fresh herbs and enough water that your salmon would just covered. Bring this to just below the boiling point, place your salmon in, cover it. It's easier to handle the fish once cooked if you place it in a piece of cheese cloth. When the fish is done, remove it, remove the skin. Serve with the yogurt sauce on the side.
Hi! I worked at a restaurant where people use to order salmon all the time and raved on how wonderful it was. Rub Little olive oil on both sides of fish and place it in a fry pan.3 minutes on each side before you turn it with a brush, brush it with maple syrup.make sure you have the pan on med.,heat watch it. but you should really love it.good luck Pam
Have you ever made salmon cakes? My family loves them. Crumble your salmon in a bowl and add flour and corn meal and one egg, combine until well blended.Use enough flour and meal that they stick really good, then pan fry abput 7 min on each side! They are great!!!
just grill it with some salt and pepper and garlic powder. then take plain yogurt and mix it with some dill for a sauce, or just serve with lemon and green salad without yogurt. very simple and yummy =)
Steam Vegetables until tender. Just put fillets in a baking pan with aluminum foil put butter on them in a oven preheated to 350 for 10 minutes.Until flakes off with a fork.
pan fried with salt and pepper and a little bit of lemon juice, garnish with parsley or cilantro.

or, pan fry and cover lightly with store bought teriyaki sauce
